The role
As an Income Assistant, you will be required to have knowledge of welfare benefits, housing legislation and be able to demonstrate best practice regarding income collection and court processes. This is a customer focused role requiring a holistic approach to problem solving and you will be required to think strategically to achieve positive results for both the customer and the business. The successful candidate will be supporting our customers to navigate the intricacies of welfare benefits and sustaining their tenancies. Therefore, if you have an ability to be pro-active, use a wide range of software packages, can demonstrate good communication skills and have a positive approach to tackling problems whilst also working to tight deadlines and targets we would love to hear from you.
What skills and experience we are looking for:
Experience and knowledge of housing legislation and best practice regarding Income and court process
Experience of working with internal and external partners to resolve complex issues
An ability to be pro-active, use own initiative and be self-driven to achieve agreed individual targets
Experience of working with vulnerable customers.
Ability to tackle difficult situations with confidence and negotiate to reach a good solution
Pro-active communicator to ensure customers are at the heart of the case management
