MTDH Management is the appointed managing agent for MTD Housing, a newly established social housing provider. We manage a diverse portfolio comprising shared ownership, social rented units, leasehold properties, and standard residential tenancies. The Role
This is a key role in managing a mixed tenure portfolio overseeing income streams and ensuring effective credit control across a mixed-tenure portfolio.
We are seeking an experienced Income & Credit Control Officer to oversee income streams and credit control across our mixed-tenure portfolio, which includes social housing residential tenancies, leasehold and shared ownership.
You will work closely with tenancy officers, finance, and housing management teams to ensure the efficient collection of rent, service charges, and leasehold payments, as well as proactive management of arrears.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and reconcile rent, service charge, and leasehold accounts across a variety of tenancy types.
Pursue late or outstanding payments through professional and empathetic communication via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
Liaise with tenants, leaseholders, and shared owners regarding account queries.
Serve legal notices and manage enforcement procedures, including court attendance if required.
Collaborate with Housing Benefit and Universal Credit to resolve payment issues and arrange direct payments.
Identify vulnerable tenants and work with housing officers to provide tailored support.
Maintain accurate records and generate reports to monitor arrears and income performance.
Assist in developing income management processes for current and future portfolios.
Person Specification
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines.
Professional and confident in engagement with tenants, leaseholders, and external agencies.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and property management systems.
Collaborative and proactive team player.
Empathetic and solution-focused when working with vulnerable tenants.
Experience/Qualifications:
Experience in credit control or income management within the housing or property sector
Experience with social housing tenancies, leasehold and shared ownership
A good understanding the Social Landlord Pre-Action Protocol for Possession Claims
Familiarity with Housing Benefit and Universal Credit processes
Experience managing PRS residential tenanted portfolios
Knowledge of tenancy enforcement law
