to join our dedicated Income Management Team. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract. As an Income Officer, you'll play a crucial role in maximising income collection and minimising arrears across our housing stock. This is a proactive role where you'll manage your own caseload of rent accounts, working closely with customers to help them pay their rent on time, while taking fair enforcement action when needed.
You'll be the first point of contact for tenants experiencing financial difficulties and work collaboratively with internal colleagues and external partners to provide the right support at the right time. Whether it's negotiating sustainable payment plans, promoting digital solutions, or preparing cases for court, your work will help safeguard tenancies and strengthen our communities.
What You'll Be Doing:
Managing rent accounts, ensuring prompt and effective action to recover arrears.
Supporting tenants to sustain their tenancies through early intervention and referrals to support services.
Using data to prioritise high-risk cases and minimise financial loss.
Preparing legal notices, court paperwork, and attending hearings as necessary.
Promoting digital tools and advance rent payments to reduce costs and improve service.
Collaborating with teams across the business and external agencies to maximise income.
What we are looking for:
Experience of Debt Recovery or delivering an income collection service to clients
Knowledge of housing legislation and ability to research issues affecting income maximisation.
A proactive and organised approach with the ability to manage a busy caseload.
A commitment to delivering excellent customer service and upholding Torus' values.
Ability to manage professional relationships with tenants including challenging non-compliance
Ability to keep accurate up to date records and produce timely reports
The ability to use business data to monitor and prioritise your caseload based upon a risk-based approach
Interview Process:
Candidates will undergo in-person interviews, consisting of a competency-based interview.
