We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Income Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, ensuring accurate data entry, and maintaining financial records. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software. The Income Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation.
Responsibilities
Responsible for posting all income, including rents and service charges, into the Housing Management System and finance ledgers via Excel, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines
Weekly posting the rent, service charge, and rates for properties from local authority income reports
Cleared suspense accounts daily
Maintained accurate financial records
Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, or PeopleSoft to manage financial transactions.
Prepare monthly reports on income and arrears.
Preparing rent invoices for each occupant, paid by Housing Benefit and maintaining accurate Housing Benefit Rent Statements per occupant.
Preparing service charge demands to occupants and maintaining accurate Resident Rent statements per occupant
Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience in bookkeeping/accounting.
Proven experience working within the income team in the housing association sector.
Solid understanding of accounting principles.
Proficient in Xero and Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Self-motivated, organised and reliable (able to work independently and autonomously).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ideally AAT qualified.
