Purpose of Job
As Income Partner, you will be the go-to person and advocate for all customer income and arrears issues on your patch, ensuring customers are provided with support and advice, building relationships as you go and making every contact count.
Key accountabilities
To manage an Income Management patch, taking a supportive approach to customer experience and ensuring rent and service charge arrears actions are completed in line with SLH's policies and procedures.
To maximise SLH's rental income on your patch throughout the tenant journey, giving advice and taking action where appropriate, ranging from the initial pre-tenancy affordability support right through to legal action and representing the business at court.
To work in partnership with external agencies (incl. DWP, HB, CAB) to ensure the correct advice and support is offered to our customers, ensuring opportunities to maximise their income is well communicated.
To commit to continually developing a broad understanding of Welfare Benefits and of ongoing and new welfare related and financial inclusion issues.
To support customers to make Universal Credit applications and to complete verification checks, ensuring the resulting data and any advice given is comprehensively recorded in our systems.
To record and act on Housing Benefit entitlement changes including the need to make tenants aware of any changes.
To be a proactive member of the SLH team; continually seeking to improve outcomes and develop your own skills and the performance of the team. You will seek to improve processes and ensure value for money.
To ensure that Health, Wellbeing and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to, to deliver effective and safe services and operations.
To ensure you work in accordance with legislative, regulatory and financial requirements in relation to your role at all times.
To ensure that SLH data is collected, safely and appropriately managed, reported accurately and produced in a timely fashion to aid sound decision making and that appropriate procedures, systems and processes are in place to ensure data quality and security.
