We're seeking an individual to join our Financial Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to either begin or grow your career in Finance. You'll play a key role in supporting the Council's income and payments processes as part of a highly collaborative and supportive team. Taking pride in delivery accuracy and efficiency in managing accounts payable and receivable to support the Council in providing vital services to the community.

What you'll do



Process invoices, credit notes, and payments promptly and accurately. Set up and maintain debtor and creditor accounts. Handle daily banking, cash receipting, and posting transactions into the Council's Financial Management System (FMS). Administer remittances received by email, post, or in person. Act as the first point of contact for queries from internal teams and external customers. Support compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.


We're looking for someone who thrives in a busy office environment. You'll be comfortable working with numbers and have a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy when reviewing invoices, purchase orders, and other financial documents.

Strong IT skills are essential as well as having clear communication skills--both written and verbal--as you'll be liaising with colleagues and customers daily.

You'll be well-organised, able to prioritise tasks under pressure, and work independently when needed. A flexible, adaptable approach and a positive attitude will help you succeed in this role.
