In your role as an ILS learning support staff you will be responsible for supporting students in the pathway in formal lessons under the guidance of the teaching staff or in the residential provision where you will support students to achieve their independence targets. You will be responsible for monitoring and assessing students' progress through effective target setting and ensuring that students are able to access the curriculum effectively. You will also be responsible for delivering all aspects of personal care to individual students, and take responsibility for the raising of student's individual care plans and risk assessments.
To apply, you must have level 2 numeracy and literacy or equivalent and a NVQ Level 2 in Care. A Level 2 qualification in safe handling of medication would be beneficial (or can be achieved within 6 months). You should have experience of working in a flexible and responsive team as well as experience of working in a learning environment. You will need to be a team worker, with excellent communication, organisational and planning skills. You should have good IT skills with the ability to lead others and prioritise workloads. It is important to have a positive, proactive, flexible approach to work and a strong commitment to excellence and student success.
