Overall job purpose
To chair Statutory Reviews of Looked After Children and Child Protection Conferences, provide an independent scrutiny of the arrangements of care and support of children and young people and those looked after by the Local Authority.
To contribute to systems for monitoring the effectiveness and quality of the child protection conference process, ensuring that the requirements of Part 6 and 7 of Social Services and Wellbeing Act [Wales] and the Wales Safeguarding Procedures are met.
That effective care and support protection plans are established, monitored, and reviewed such that children at risk of abuse, neglect or harm are safeguarded.
To contribute to quality assurance systems for monitoring the effectiveness and quality of the LAC review and child protection process, ensuring that all statutory requirements are fulfilled, and that the LAC review process is used to ensure effective care and support plans deliver permanence for looked after children.
Contribute to the Quality Assurance Framework and its improvement processes, ensuring that a high standard of service is provided to the children and young people receiving a service from the Children and Families Service.
