Year 2 Individual Needs Assistant required for 1st September 2025

We are looking for an energetic person who is self-motivated, adaptable and positive about supporting our pupils. Your practice will enhance and support our already committed and passionate team.
The role will involve working 1:1 supporting a pupil with ASC and communication needs, within the Year 2 environment and in alternative provision spaces, including a sensory room. The current hours of this role are 8.30am until 3pm, supporting this pupil in most aspects of their day.
You will be working closely with class teachers, an experienced teaching assistant and the school SENCO to provide support for this pupil, helping them to keep safe and flourish in their personal development. We can offer you a supportive and professional working environment where there will be opportunities to develop, further your expertise and contribute to the life of school and education of the children.
We need someone who is:
Compassionate and caring, patient and intuitive and with a good sense of fun.
An interest or experience in Autism Spectrum Condition.
An interest in Speech and Language development, with possible Makaton signing experience.
Able to adapt learning tasks and activities to suit the pupil they're working with.
Able to run specific speech and language intervention, with support and guidance.
Able to follow the lead of the teacher but recognise the unique needs of the pupil.
Able to work well alongside colleagues in well-established and successful teams.
Able to read advice and liaise with outside agencies, putting this into practice throughout the school day.
Able to support the pupil with self-care.
Able to energetically support the pupil in the environment to help keep them safe.
Able to engage warmly and confidently with parents and carers.
