Hours of work: 29.6 hours per week, 8:35am to 3:15pm.


Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)


(As the position is part-time/term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata)


Fixed term while attached to student

Westfield School is a charming village school, set in the countryside just outside of Hastings. Our school is a friendly and welcoming place where every child is valued and encouraged to thrive.


We aim to create confident, curious, and compassionate learners who are healthy, happy and supported to achieve the best they can. We are a good school and we are looking for a nurturing and enthusiastic Individual Needs Assistant to join our support team to work 1:1 with a child with an educational healthcare plan (EHCP) for developmental delay and speech, language and communication needs joining our Reception class in September 2025.


The child requires 1:1 support throughout the day including personal care and supporting learning in class and supervision within the classroom and wider school environment.


The successful candidate will:


Have experience in supporting children with additional needs such as autism, speech, language and communication needs Knowledge of, and the ability to implement a range of strategies in order to keep the pupil motivated Understanding of SEND needs and has a commitment to inclusion within a mainstream setting Be able to work on own initiative following guidance from the SENDCO and class teacher Has excellent interpersonal skills and can build relationships with pupils, staff and parents. A calm, patient, resilient and flexible approach.
This role requires you to undertake Paediatric First Aid training if you do not currently have that qualification.
