Role Overview:



We are seeking an experienced, autonomous Automation Project Manager with a strong background delivering material handling systems for automation manufacturers. You'll manage projects end-to-end, from post-sales handover through design, compliance, installation, and commissioning. Acting as the main point of contact for clients and internal teams, you'll ensure delivery on time, on budget and compliant with all safety regulations and standards. Strong knowledge of automation technologies, regulations, and hands-on project delivery is essential. You must be ready to hit the ground running!

Key Responsibilities:



Project Leadership & Delivery

Own full project lifecycle, from sale through to delivery, commissioning, and client handover. Build and manage detailed project plans using MS Project. Monitor project progress, budget adherence, and scheduling. Conduct and manage regulatory risk assessments.
Technical Oversight

Interpret complex automation project designs involving machinery such as conveyor systems, monorails, and aisle cranes. Collaborate with internal design teams (mechanical, electrical, controls) and external subcontractors for manufacturing and installation. Oversee integration of PLCs and controls systems, ensuring performance and compliance with industry standards.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Act as the main client point of contact throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure consistent communication, setting expectations, resolving challenges, and delivering high-quality outcomes. Manage key subcontractor relationships including machine part fabrication, controls engineering, and onsite installers.

Candidate Requirements:



Essential:

Appropriate Engineering Degree, or relevant experience. Extensive experience delivering industrial automation projects within a manufacturing context. Deep understanding of machine automation lifecycle, design to installation. Strong knowledge of industry regulations, ISO standards, and risk assessment protocols. Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and technical installations. Excellent communication skills and client-facing presence.
Desirable:

Project Management experience in automotive, intralogistics, or retail distribution sectors. Familiarity with CAD software and multilingual capabilities. Expertise with MS Project for timeline and resource management. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
