We are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of painting techniques and the ability to work with various materials in a warehouse environment. This role requires mechanical knowledge and proficiency in using hand and power tools. The Industrial Painter will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring high-quality finishes on fabricated products.
In addition to painting the successful candidate can be trained in other semi skilled roles within the business to not only improve their own skillset but also be a valued asset to the business with the ability to cover other departments as and when required.
Duties
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning welds and stripe coating, and applying primers as necessary.
Apply paint using spray equipment to achieve a smooth and even finish.
Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during the painting process.
Operate overhead cranes to safely position/move and turn structural steel.
Conduct quality checks on painted surfaces to ensure adherence to specifications.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly.
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain production schedules.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
Proven experience in industrial painting or a related field is preferred.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various hand tools and power tools.
Familiarity with warehouse operations is an advantage.
Knowledge in the use of Overhead cranes (training provided)
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Hours
Core working hours:-
Monday - Thursday - 7:30am - 4:00pm
Friday - 7:30am - 3:00pm
Regular overtime is available and required at a reasonable level all paid at time and half.
Rate (weekly paid)
Standard rate - 13.61per hour
Overtime - 20.41per hour
