Job Description
The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust define a Infection Prevention and Control Nurse as a qualified nurse where the primary purpose of role is to provide guidance and support based on advanced level knowledge to patients, carers and health professionals To support the Matron Infection Prevention & Control in the provision of Infection Prevention & Control Services throughout the Trust. As a member of the Infection Prevention & Control Team assist in the development of a quality, proactive, evidence based Infection Prevention & Control service Within the sphere of Infection Prevention & Control the post holder will: Work towards advanced knowledge and skills within Infection Prevention and Control Contribute to the facilitation of the planning, delivery and evaluation of care pathways for a designated group of patients Support the development of nursing practice within Infection Prevention & Control and contribute to the body of nursing knowledge. Provide specialist education and training Undertake research and clinical audit in Infection Prevention & Control Provide infection control advice as part of a 7 day service
