This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join a small but highly effective and well-respected team committed to delivering excellent information services to the Council and its customers, playing a key part in upholding the information rights of the public.

As Information Governance Assistant you will sit within the wider IT Business Services Team, deliver the records management service, log and acknowledge information requests and support the Information Governance team to deliver the Information & Data Management Strategy alongside the Council's Digital Strategy.

You will liaise with key suppliers and be responsible for organising and manually handling paper records, ensuring that information is recorded, delivered, stored accurately and that documents which reach their retention period have been securely destroyed. You'll also have the opportunity to get involved in key projects which sit within the service, such as the Council's move to SharePoint online.

Using your excellent attention to detail, motivation and organisational skills, you'll be able to effectively plan, organise and prioritise your work, working both autonomously and as part of a team to achieve tight deadlines, whilst ensuring that service quality, data quality and performance is maintained. You will use your customer service skills to act as a main contact for the records management service and communicate information to internal clients and members of the public.

With a good level of IT literacy, you will be able to use various IT systems and software packages in line with those required by the Council.

You'll also need to use your awareness of Data Protection and be willing to increase your knowledge within the team as relevant.

If you're passionate about delivering high-quality, customer-focused services in the Information Governance and Records Management space, we'd love to hear from you.
