Job summary




We are currently recruiting for an

Information Security Specialist

to work on a hybrid basis, two/three days from our HQ in Coventry and the remainder working remotely from home.


This role has responsibility to support the Security Architect in strengthening the organisation's security posture by conducting detailed analyses, monitoring compliance and implementing process improvements.


We are looking a proactive and knowledgeable individual with a strong understanding of information security principles, standards and frameworks. The ideal candidate will also be proficient in using security tools and methodologies to assess, document and strengthen the security of systems, data, applications and websites. Experience of working with the M365 suite and security-monitoring tools is essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.

Job description



Conduct detailed and periodic security assessments across organisational systems, identifying vulnerabilities, risks and opportunities for improvement Develop/record comprehensive security status of and compliance with policies, and alignment with authoritative sources Assist in performing advanced analyses to identify gaps between the current and desired states of security Continuously monitor changes in external guidance, legislation and security standard, analysing discrepancies between various sources Follow-up delivery of the findings from security testing (penetration tests), identifying significant issues, recurring patterns and opportunities for risk reduction Support researching innovative, technically sound solutions to complex security challenges, recommending enhancements Act as a technical liaison, effectively communicating security stance, concepts and proposed solutions to the Security Architect, end users and subject matter experts Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the wider organisation on the use of security dashboards to foster collaborative security interactions

Person specification



Proven knowledge of information security principles, standards and frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST) and proficiency in security tools and methodologies Working knowledge with the M365 suite and security-monitoring tools; familiarity with drawing tools and process documentation tools would be advantageous Ability to perform risk assessments and translate technical findings into actionable solutions Demonstrate ability to research and find creative solutions to project technical requirements Good verbal and written communication skills, capable of tailoring messages to both technical and non-technical audiences Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage deadlines Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks and deliverables
