We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Information Technology Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of various IT domains, including server management, network security, and information security. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our IT infrastructure while providing technical support to users across the organisation.
Duties
Manage and maintain server environments, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Implement and oversee information security protocols to protect sensitive data.
Conduct regular assessments of network security measures and respond to potential threats.
Develop and execute disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
Engage in systems engineering tasks to enhance IT infrastructure.
Utilise SolarWinds for monitoring network performance and troubleshooting issues.
Administer Active Directory for user account management and access control.
Apply ITIL best practices for service management and delivery.
Provide technical support for desktop environments, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Collaborate on projects involving computer networking, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
Supervise junior IT staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
Conduct analysis of network infrastructure to identify areas for improvement.
Manage projects related to network support, ensuring timely completion within scope.
Demonstrate leadership in maintaining high standards of service delivery across the IT department.
Utilise tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, ServiceNow, and Jira for documentation and project tracking.
Configure firewall settings to secure network perimeters against unauthorised access.
Work with virtualisation technologies such as VMware and vSphere to optimise server resources.
Support remote access solutions for users working off-site or from home environments.
Requirements
Proven experience in server management, information security, and network security practices.
Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and systems engineering principles.
Proficiency in using SolarWinds for network monitoring and troubleshooting tasks.
Strong knowledge of Active Directory management and ITIL frameworks.
Experience providing technical support across various platforms including Windows Server, Linux, AWS, Azure, DHCP, IIS, SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, WAN, LAN configurations, Cisco routers, and remote access software.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex IT issues effectively.
Demonstrated project management skills with a focus on delivering results within deadlines.
Strong leadership capabilities with experience supervising teams or projects preferred.
Effective communication skills with an emphasis on organisational skills for managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
