Job Description

We are looking for an Information Technology Manager that will ensure the smooth operation, reliability, and continuous improvement of IT infrastructure and systems at an ATL Technology site.


This role supports both daily operations and longer-term digital transformation aligned with global and local business needs. The manager acts as the site's IT leader, responsible for translating business objectives into practical, secure, and scalable technology solutions, working closely with site leadership and reporting to global IT leadership for broader strategy and governance.


This role will strategically align technology with business objectives, ensuring that systems and infrastructure effectively support operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and long-term growth. This involves managing IT teams, overseeing secure and reliable networks and applications, driving innovation through digital transformation, and maintaining strong communication with stakeholders across departments. Effective leadership, proactive problem-solving, and a continuous improvement mindset are essential to delivering measurable value and sustaining high performance.

Principal Accountabilities



Infrastructure and Systems Management



Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, building security, and production systems. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery strategies are in place for critical manufacturing and compliance systems. Manage local and cloud-based services, backups, and cybersecurity protocols.

IT Strategy and Planning



Collaborate and implement IT strategies aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements that fit the site and global initiatives. Collaborate with production, quality, regulatory, and R&D teams to align technology with manufacturing and compliance needs. Identify opportunities for process automation, digital transformation, system integration, and cost improvements.

Production Systems Support



Support production-related systems including: + Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
+ Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP systems: e.g., Infor, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
+ Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
Coordinate with production and engineering teams to ensure IT systems support lean manufacturing and process efficiency.

Cybersecurity and Data Protection



Implement and maintain cybersecurity frameworks to protect sensitive customer product information and manufacturing production systems. Ensure secure access to systems and implement role-based access control (RBAC). Monitor for threats and ensure compliance with data protection regulations such as HIPAA or GDPR (if applicable).

IT Team and Vendor Management



Lead and develop a team of IT professionals, assigning tasks and monitoring performance. Manage third-party vendors and service providers. Oversee IT budget, procurement, licensing, and asset management.

User Support and Training



Provide support to end-users across departments, ensuring minimal downtime and high user satisfaction. Develop user training programs for critical applications and IT security awareness.

Project Management



Lead IT projects including system upgrades, new application rollouts, and infrastructure improvements. Create and manage project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications

Data Analysis & Reporting



Design and implement system reports and data analytics solutions to help key decision-makers gain insights into IT performance. Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of data used in reporting and analysis across various systems.

Compliance & Documentation



Support compliance with industry regulations (FDA, ISO 13485, ISO 27001, etc.) and ATL internal quality standards (QMS) including system software validations per RACI requirements. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, workflows, business processes, validations, and IT policies. Work in cross functional teams to support audits ensuring traceability and data integrity.

Additional responsibilities



The IT Manager will be expected to stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices, particularly those related to medical device manufacturing and enterprise IT solutions. A proactive attitude and a focus on continuous improvement will be essential to success in this role.

Knowledge,Skills and Experience



Education:



Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required. A Master's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration (MBA with IT focus), or a healthcare technology-related field is highly desirable, especially in regulated industries. Additional coursework or certifications in medical technology regulations, computer system validation, or industrial automation systems is a strong plus.

Experience:



Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT roles, with demonstrated leadership capacity, in a regulated manufacturing or medical device/pharma environment. Proven experience with manufacturing systems (MES, SCADA, PLC interfaces), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor). Hands-on experience managing computerized systems subject to FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliance and ISO 13485 standards. Demonstrated success in: + Leading cross-functional IT projects in a production or cleanroom setting.
+ Supporting and maintaining validated systems.
+ Interfacing between IT, Quality, Production, and Engineering teams.
Experience working with audit processes (internal, FDA, ISO), including document control, traceability, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

Technical Skills:



Proficient in the architecture and administration of: + Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy
+ Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
+ Cloud services (Azure, AWS)
+ Backup/recovery and business continuity solutions
+ Microsoft Entra - 365 suite
Familiarity with network infrastructure (switches, firewalls, VPNs) and industrial Ethernet standards Experience with database systems (SQL Server, Azure) including querying, reporting, and security management Working knowledge of Cybersecurity standards (NIST, ISO 27001) and ITIL practices Familiar with GAMP 5, risk-based approaches to validation, and lifecycle documentation (URS, FRS, IQ/OQ/PQ)

Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge:



Foundation understanding of: + FDA 21 CFR Part 11 (Electronic Records and Electronic Signatures)
+ ISO 13485 (Medical Devices - Quality Management Systems)
+ GxP and GMP principles
+ GDPR data protection regulations (depending on geography)
Experience with Computer System Validation (CSV) documentation and execution

Leadership and Soft Skills:



Strong leadership and people management abilities; able to motivate, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders Solid analytical and problem-solving skills; able to balance technical needs with regulatory and business requirements Strong organizational and time management skills; capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Adept at vendor management and contract negotiations

Project Management Skills:



Experience with managing projects, ensuring alignment of system solutions with business goals. Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) is desirable.
