Are you passionate about solving problems for customers and providing exceptional support? If so, we're looking for a customer-focused Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure Services Team.
Our customers are at the heart of what we do, and in this role your primary responsibility will be to support them, resolving infrastructure-related incidents, assisting with escalations, and ensuring their systems run smoothly. The role has a strong focus on Linux-based systems, so confidence in troubleshooting, maintaining, and installing Linux servers and services will be central to your success.
Alongside customer support, you will also contribute to internal IT operations, deliver infrastructure installations, and help maintain secure, reliable hosted environments. From Linux server builds to patch management and automation, you will play a key part in keeping both our internal and customer systems running efficiently and securely.

You'll be part of the group that ensures that both our customers and our systems are always-on, secure, and future-ready, and you'll work on critical projects that power business transformation ensuring every customer receives a first-class support experience.

What you'll be doing
Customer Support & Linux Systems
Provide day-to-day support for Linux-based servers and infrastructure used by our customers, resolving Linux server-related incidents or performance issues
Act as the first point of contact for escalated Linux or infrastructure issues, taking ownership through to resolution
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying root causes and sharing lessons learned
Internal IT Infrastructure & Support
Provide technical support for internal systems including servers, networks, end-user hardware, and core infrastructure services
Monitor, maintain, and enhance internal IT performance, ensuring system availability, capacity planning, and lifecycle management
Deliver and document secure IT practices including user access controls, device encryption, MFA, and endpoint protection
Support infrastructure upgrades and improvements across on-premise and cloud platforms
Security, Patch Management & Risk Mitigation
Ensure systems (internal and customer-facing) remain compliant with security patch cycles and vendor support status
Proactively monitor for vulnerabilities and collaborate with the Infrastructure Lead on patching plans, system hardening, and secure configurations
Support internal audit and compliance requirements, including secure user onboarding/offboarding processes
Maintain awareness of cyber risks, contributing to improvements in security architecture and response readiness
Installations, Site Surveys & Automation
Deliver and support Linux-based server installations and upgrades for external customers (prof.ITplus, Profit4)
Conduct remote and on-site site surveys to assess infrastructure readiness, ensuring all security, network, and hardware requirements are met
Seek opportunities to automate installation processes, enhancing speed, consistency, and security of deployments
Work alongside the Product Engineering team to support the use of tools like Ansible, scripts, and configuration management for deployment and patching
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation including network diagrams, configuration notes, install templates, and asset registers
Support creation of internal knowledge base articles for recurring issues, system procedures, and security policies
Assist where appropriate with internal training and knowledge transfer to other team members
