6 month contract
Inside IR35
Umbrella hourly rate, dependent on experience- \xc2\xa355-70/hr

Hybrid role- On average two / 3 days a week in Ashton House. Occasional visits to client sites (expenses reclaimable in line with Babcock policy).

Candidates must be UK nationals and in possession of live, transferable SC clearance (i.e. in use in the last 12 months). Please state on cover sheet town of birth alongside nationality and basic details around SC (i.e. where it was last used, company, date left etc).

Role description / task:

Accountable for the creation of compliant solution designs, working together with the under the direction of the Lead System Architect and alongside System Engineering Manager.

  • Providing in-depth technical expertise and system design ownership, collaborating with other SMEs.
  • Overseeing other engineers producing detailed specifications, designs and other deliverables
  • Managing engineering change to systems, deconflicting priorities as necessary
  • Leading technical interactions with suppliers in conjunction with Supply Chain.
  • Contributing to technical interactions with the customer and Front-Line Commands.
  • Participating in Requirements management, justification and decomposition.
  • Managing interfaces and trade-offs between systems, sub systems and functions.
  • Leading the development, building, testing and trialling of solutions.
  • Overseeing the creation of high-quality design documentation.
  • Supporting Operational Engineering teams with in-service systems, troubleshooting technical faults
and problem management
  • Participating in Validation, Verification, Test and Acceptance activities.
Required Experience /Qualification /Attributes:
  • Experience of power distribution, UPS
  • Time reference / NTP systems and time distribution
  • Rack design layout and cabling design
  • Full Lifecycle, demonstrable System and solution architecture design and delivery experience
  • Design for MoD installations in accordance with SCIDA requirements / JSP 604
  • Degree or equivalent in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering. HNC/HND with equivalent,
relevant experience is valued and welcomed
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards
Desirable Experience /Qualification /Attributes:
  • Military communications systems experience \xe2\x80\x93 Military messaging, crypto
  • RF transmission & reception systems
  • Knowledge of UK MoD security (JSP 604), practices and ways of working
  • Software & Hardware integration experience
  • Lifecycle engineering management experience
Skills and attributes

  • Able to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
  • Team player but equally capable of working on their own.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Management of self and workload to ensure on time delivery.
