Job Description

The Database Administrator will be working across a primarily Microsoft SQL environment liaising with multiple areas of the business to support, design, evaluate, build, deliver and maintain the provision of a performant and secure SQL environment. They will be responsible for providing specialist technical support and expertise across Pilgrims Europe SQL environment for both on-prem and cloud.
What will you be doing?

Be responsible for maintaining and proactively managing the portfolio of IT Solutions
Provide Incident and Problem management support.
Perform problem identification and root cause analysis for complex issues.
Perform regular health checks identifying and recommending any potential service improvements
Participation and engagement in Projects/Service improvements impacting Infrastructure Services.
Identification ownership and implementation of proactive maintenance plans including essential upgrades and software patches.

What will you need to have?

Deep technical knowledge/specialism of the following technologies to Expert level:
Experience in Database Server Security Patch Management
Experience in Database Access Management
Experience in Microsoft SQL Server DBA
Experience in MS SQL Server Administration
Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)
Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
Experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
