We are seeking an In-House Solicitor to join our legal team and support the business with a wide range of legal matters. Britannia Hotels have 64 hotels across the UK, offering over 10,000 bedrooms. Our hotels can be found in prime cities across the UK, as well as near major airports, in coastal, beach-front towns, or surrounded by stunning countryside.
The Role
As an In-House Solicitor, you will be providing legal advice across the business. You will be advising on legal risks, contracts, commercial operations, compliance, and more. You shall report directly to the General Counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal advice across the group, including contract, corporate and property
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts
Support property transactions, acquisitions, and lease arrangements
Liaise with external counsel when specialist advice is required
Ensure the group complies with all relevant regulations (e.g. GDPR, health & safety, consumer law)
Assist with dispute resolution and litigation as needed
Deliver training and guidance to internal teams on legal matters
Requirements:
Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or relevant jurisdiction)
Ideally with experience in commercial and property law
Experience working in-house or advising hospitality, retail, or property clients is desirable but not essential
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook
Able to communicate via telephone and email
Able to work towards deadlines
Have strong observational, time management and communication skills
Strong negotiation and drafting skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, commercial environment
Clear communicator with a proactive and collaborative approach
