To lead, manage and support the IPU team to deliver an efficient holistic palliative care service, that can respond flexibly to patient and carer needs and is focused on achieving agreed outcomes for the patient. To manage and inspire a multidisciplinary workforce from novice to expert, including volunteers,to work as one team. To actand practiceas a senior clinician in the IPU team and, as required, the wider organisation. To innovate and streamline IPU team processes and services by embedding quality improvement methodology,including clear outcome measures to produce efficient and highly performing inpatient services.
To build strong relationshipswithin the team and across the Hospice setting To provide oversight of IPU clinical quality including delivery of the audit program, incident and medicines management, Infection Prevention Control (IPC) and mandatory training. To provide oversight of delivery of pharmacy services to the hospice Within this clinical leadership role, it is expected that you will spend 30% of time in a clinical nursing role which will include role modelling best practice and engaging with patients and their families
