OVERALL PURPOSE:



Verify the conformity of component parts and assemblies and create control programs for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:



Inspect parts and assemblies in accordance with applicable data package requirements, using a range of measuring equipment including micrometres, verniers, co-ordinate measuring machines and faro arms, Inspect component parts to verify applicable machine tool set up processes, Inspect component parts and assemblies in accordance with batch sampling requirements, Complete formal First Article inspection activities, Complete component and assembly testing in accordance with Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), using a range of test equipment including power supplies, digital multi-meters, torque transducers and oscilloscopes, Create Test Procedures for new jobs, Test and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems, Review, analyse and document test results, including processing / completing non-conformance documentation (when applicable), Create a CMM matrix for all programme setup information, and program the CMM off-line (using CAD models) and on-line as required, Design new test solutions and develop future test strategies for equipment and products, Complete / authorize formal release certification (when required), Support continuous improvement activities, Support team members with other tasks as and when necessary, Adhere to Company policies and procedures, Ensure that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained at all times, Help create and maintain a safe working environment and observe the published Health and Safety procedures, and Carry out any other tasks where reasonable and relevant, when required.

QUALIFICATIONS:



GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade C or above Industry recognized engineering-based Apprenticeship

EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS:



Understanding of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Knowledge of test fixtures, equipment sensors and other fundamental laboratory test equipment

Proficiency in all standard inspection equipment and tools, including CMM

Ability to create programs from CAD models and make adjustments to programs Ability to interpret and analyse engineering drawings, wiring programs, PCB schematics and technical specifications Ability to interpret test results and identify errors / anomalies Experience working in an aerospace precision engineering environment - Desirable Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
