As Instructional Designer, you'll play a pivotal role in expanding our learning offer--leading the design of high-quality, user-first content that helps students build confidence, develop skills, and access the right opportunities. You'll be central to our goal of delivering meaningful, measurable outcomes through learning--whether via flagship programmes, e-learning modules, or live, student-facing experiences.

About this role



As Instructional Designer (E-learning), you will lead the development of engaging, accessible, and impactful learning experiences that support student success and client outcomes. You'll play a key role in shaping GTI's flagship learning programme, co-creating content for digital platforms and student events, and designing resources that help Gen Z learners navigate their early careers with confidence.

You'll take ownership of the full instructional design process--from needs analysis and learning strategy through to content creation, testing, and optimisation. Working closely with subject matter experts, clients, and internal teams, you'll translate complex information into user-friendly content that works across formats including e-learning, video, webinars, and live workshops.

Outcomes





Our learning products are designed effectively and receive positive feedback from users and clients.

Design, develop, and deliver a growing portfolio of Gen Z-optimised learning experiences--including e-learning modules, video tutorials, webinars, simulations, and interactive assessments. Apply instructional design models (e.g. ADDIE, SAM, Bloom's Taxonomy) to produce effective, outcome-driven content tailored to learner needs. Ensure all materials are inclusive, accessible, and regularly updated to reflect new technologies, insights, and industry best practice.

We have a programme of learning products to meet the needs of students, including the successful delivery of a flagship learning programme.

Lead the creation of GTI's flagship learning programme aimed at empowering students to succeed in their career journey--covering employability, confidence, and skills development. Design programme structures, learning pathways, and content experiences that provide long-term value and measurable learner outcomes. Support the delivery of learning content for events and programmes, including student-facing workshops, online webinars, and facilitated sessions--ensuring all materials are educationally robust and engaging.

Collaboration across the business and relationships with partners, universities and subject matter expects drives the success development of our learning products.

Work with subject matter experts, clients, and internal stakeholders to translate complex information into learner-friendly, effective content across formats and contexts. Collaborate with multimedia, design, product, and marketing teams to embed learning into a wide range of student experiences--both digital and live. Coordinate external contributors and freelancers when required, maintaining high standards and a consistent tone of voice across all materials. Collaborate with commercial teams to align learning content with client needs and market demand--ensuring programmes are packaged, positioned, and priced effectively. Support the onboarding and success of clients using learning products by delivering or contributing to enablement materials, walkthroughs, or content customisation. Ensure learning products deliver measurable value for clients and partners, contributing to retention, renewal, and upsell opportunities.

There is continuous innovation and improvement to the platform and its managed services that is driven by insights.

Monitor user behaviour and campaign performance through tools like Google Analytics, Hotjar, Looker, and direct student feedback. Deliver personalised, high-performing experiences through rapid experimentation, testing, and iteration. Use segmentation strategies to target student cohorts with campaigns that align to different points in the customer lifecycle.

Regular reporting on the performance and impact of our learning products is communicated across the business and to the market

Use tools such as Articulate 360 and learning management systems (LMS) to manage, publish, and track learning content at scale. Monitor usage data, learner feedback, and performance metrics to optimise content and demonstrate impact to internal and external stakeholders. Develop assessments, diagnostics, and knowledge checks to evaluate learner outcomes and continuously improve programme effectiveness.

The student success team and its team members play an effective role in cross-functional leadership and drive the owner of learning products across the business

Act as the instructional design lead across GTI, advocating for learner-first design and coaching others on best practice pedagogy. Contribute to GTI's broader content, product, and UX strategies by representing learner needs in decision-making. Champion a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement across learning experiences--ensuring GTI stays ahead in digital education and student support.

Person Specification





You're a creative, learner-focused instructional designer who's passionate about helping students build the skills and confidence they need to succeed. You combine strong pedagogical thinking with practical content development expertise and have the ability to translate complex ideas into engaging, accessible learning experiences.

You thrive in cross-functional teams and enjoy working closely with subject matter experts, product teams, and designers to bring learning to life--whether through a flagship programme, digital modules, or live student events. You're equally comfortable developing learning strategies, writing scripts, and building content in authoring tools, and you're motivated by the opportunity to shape the future of digital education at scale. Proven experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or a similar role*
A solid understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design models (e.g. ADDIE, Bloom's), and digital learning best practice*
Hands-on experience creating e-learning and blended learning using tools like Articulate 360, video platforms, or LMSs*
Ability to write clear briefs, functional documentation and communicate with internal and external content providers.*
Strong technical acumen and ability to collaborate with subject matter experts, product managers, and engineers to translate content*
Experience designing and script writing digital learning solutions on a range of formats e.g., podcasts, videos, infographics etc.*
Strong communication and collaboration skills--comfortable working with both internal stakeholders and external clients/SMEs*
An eye for engaging, accessible learning design and a commitment to inclusive experiences*
A user-first mindset, driven by insight and focused on learning outcomes*
Experience developing learning content for live webinars, student events, or learning programmes*
Bonus: familiarity with UX copywriting or behavioural learning design*

Other Information





Permanent role - 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday 9am-5:30pm. 3-month probationary period.
