About the role:
We are seeking a confident and professional individual to join our thriving team in
New Plymouth as a Commercial Broker
. In this role, you will collaborate closely with SME clients, providing dependable and timely advice, while serving as the primary point of contact with underwriters. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong work ethics, exceptional communication skills, the ability to build relationships, effective time management, and a dedication to delivering outstanding customer service. This role is office-based, with a focus on building strong relationships via telephone and written communication.
How you'll make an impact
Demonstrate our values, through actions that help the business achieve its mission, to position our clients to financially survive any insurable event
Maintain client relationships by delivering an outstanding client experience, ensuring trust and brand loyalty exists with our brand front of mind to further retain clients
Management of renewals ensuring that they are completed on or before expiry dates
Servicing of alterations, endorsements and setting up new policies and finance agreements
Resolve client queries and manage the collection of premiums within the required timeframe
Deliver product advice and services that are appropriate to specific needs that are compliant with legislation and service agreements
Proactively cross sell and promote products to clients including premium funding, cyber risk, domestic insurance and Life & Health
Build knowledge and understanding of your clients business and industry market to provide trusted advice and to grow your portfolio
Develop new clients through the effective use of networks and own research
Establish and implement a new business strategy to generate and achieve portfolio growth
Develop and exceed annual budget and goals
Coach the Broker Support Staff to develop their knowledge and capabilities so that they become able to manage their own client base
Skills and Experience:
Previous commercial insurance broking experience will be advantageous.
Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills
Experience in developing new business opportunities
A strong sense of teamwork and a committed work ethic
Demonstrated understanding of NZ insurance policies and regulations
Holds or is working towards a Certificate in Financial Services (NZQA Level 5)
