Job Description

We are looking for a highly organised and customer-focused Claims Handler to manage accident and damage claims for our rental fleet of cars and vans. In this role, you will coordinate insurance claims, log vehicle damage, and liaise with customers.

Key Responsibilities



Accident & Damage Claims Management



Handle all accident and vehicle damage cases involving rental vehicles from incident through to settlement. Collect incident details from customers, staff, telematics systems, and accident reports. Assess liability, review rental agreements, and determine coverage and excess responsibilities. Submit and manage insurance claims with third-party insurers and brokers.

Vehicle Damage



Process damage on the Iris (Nexus) platform. Uploading agreements, photos, and estimates

Debt Chasing



Money Claim Online - issuing legal proceedings, obtain judgement (CCJ) and instruct high court enforcement officers Car taxes, monthly Input new V5 (logbook) details on vehicle database Manage diaries

Customer & Stakeholder Communication



Provide clear, professional communication to customers regarding claims, excesses, and repair timelines. Liaise with internal teams (rental operations, fleet management, accounts) to keep all parties updated. Manage third-party claims, negotiate recoveries, and handle queries from insurers and solicitors.

Operational & Compliance Duties



Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the claims management system. Ensure all claims are handled in accordance with company policies, insurance requirements, and legal guidelines. Identify potential fraudulent activity and escalate concerns to the appropriate team.

Skills & Experience



Experience in motor claims handling, vehicle rental, fleet administration, or insurance is desirable. Strong understanding of vehicle damage, repair processes, and accident claims. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. High attention to detail with the ability to manage a varied workload. Confident with claims management systems and general IT platforms.

Pay: From 14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 35 per week
