About the role

Our Economic Crime team are looking for an Intelligence Specialist to join them. This role will work within a newly established Economic Crime Intelligence Unit to lead on industry engagement, developing industry presence, facilitating a co-ordinated risk-based intelligence cycle for the collection, assessment and dissemination of intelligence. It will drive the focus of the business in pro-actively preventing, detecting and disrupting Economic Crime, which is a key department strategy.



The role holder will also be responsible for developing intelligence sources via key stakeholder engagement with both private and public sector/LEA engagement and producing intelligence summaries of fraud cases. It will develop intelligence packages, identify fraud/AML risks, conduct threat assessments and utilise Intelligence Systems for storage and managing intelligence.



Developing use of systems as intelligence gathering techniques, the use of inferences/developing judgements and recommendations as well as influencing the response and direction will be important tasks.



The role is a hybrid role based from either Head Office campus in Binley, Coventry or Balloon Street, Manchester.

About you

To be successful you'll be able to demonstrate experience of working across economic crime intelligence with a strong understanding of how intelligence is applied within a financial services environment to inform risk and enable decision making.


To be successful in this role it's essential you have:




Experience of working across economic crime intelligence with a strong understanding of how intelligence is applied in FS Experience of working in regulatory, risk and control environments. Good understanding of fraud and financial crime typologies. Good knowledge of intelligence cycles. The ability to produce intelligence summaries of fraud cases, develop intelligence packages and identify emerging fraud risks. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to handle complex investigations and high-pressure situations. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Good understanding of Economic Crime fraud risk management

Desirable experience needed will be:




Evidence of key stakeholder relationships within both private and public sector, including Law Enforcement Agencies Experience of working within an Economic Crime Intelligence Unit About us
