A bit about the role...
---------------------------
This is a rare chance to shape the future of Homes England's Counter Fraud response in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. You will be joining our small, experienced and friendly Anti-Economic Crime Team as the Anti-Economic Crime Investigations Manager.
As an Anti-Economic Crime Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting Homes England's mission to prevent and respond to economic crime. You will contribute to the development and implementation of proportionate and effective Counter-fraud, bribery and corruption controls, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards. Your work will help safeguard public funds and enhance the Homes England's governance, risk management, and assurance frameworks.
A bit about you...
--------------------
You will bring proven experience in counter fraud, investigations, or wider economic crime prevention, ideally within a government, public sector or regulated environment. You will have a strong grasp of relevant legislation including the Fraud Act 2002, Bribery Act 2010, and the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023, and be confident in applying these to real-world casework.
You will have the skills and experience to:
Lead complex investigations and casework, using sound judgement to assess risk and recommend proportionate action.
Design and implement policies, procedures, and training that improve organisational resilience.
Analyse data and intelligence to identify vulnerabilities, emerging risks, and areas for improvement.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, building trusted relationships to achieve effective counter-fraud outcomes.
Communicate complex issues clearly and persuasively, tailoring your approach to different audiences including senior leaders.
Professional counter-fraud qualifications (such as Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist, ICA, or ACFE) and membership of the Government Counter Fraud Profession are desirable, but not essential.
You will be motivated by safeguarding public funds, demonstrate integrity and accountability in everything you do, and be adaptable in a fast-paced environment. Most importantly, you will thrive on making a tangible impact -- helping Homes England deliver with confidence and protect its reputation.
Who are we?
---------------
Homes England: The Housing and Regeneration Agency
We believe that affordable, quality homes in well-designed places are key to improving people's lives. As the government's housing and regeneration agency, we create thriving new places and transform urban areas, combining the full breadth of our powers, expertise, land, capital and influence to bring investment to communities and get more homes built.
How? We form long-term partnerships that bridge the gap between the public and private sector to meet local needs and aspirations. We use our influence to champion the creation of sustainable homes, communities and places that are brilliantly designed for the people that live there now, and in the future. And we use our funding and support to build a more resilient, diverse and innovative housing sector, helping new entrants in the market, encouraging modern methods of construction and design, and promoting the utmost attention to building safety.
Together with our partners, we're accelerating the pace of house building, remediation and regeneration across the country, as we seek to deliver ever more affordable homes in places people are proud to call home for generations to come.
