Intensive Engagement Officer - Northampton



Job type: Full time, permanent.

Salary: 27,540 per annum

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week (+5 hours paid lunch)

Location: Northampton, including travel to Northampton Probation Units & Community.



Please note that it is essential for the post holder to hold a driver's license and have access to a vehicle as the role will require travel to other local prisons. Should you choose to use your own vehicle to meet this requirement, please note that Nacro's Driving for Work Policy requires all staff who drive for work purposes to have full business use insurance cover for their vehicle.

Who are we looking for?



An inspirational Intensive Engagement Officer who will provide resettlement support to male offenders and ex-offenders, both in custody and in the community with the aim of supporting them to overcome barriers to their personal wellbeing and successfully reintegrate into society. In this role you will work collaboratively in a multi-agency setting to maintain professional relationships and appropriate confidentiality of information.



You will need to have a clear understanding of the support requirements of people under supervision of the Probation Service and experience of providing information, advice, and guidance to this client group. Experience delivering interventions in a group setting with research, analysis, and problem-solving skills are essential.

You will have to demonstrate great listening skills and communicate effectively, while showing that you can appropriately respond to challenging behaviour when you need to. You will be able to developing practical and achievable resettlement plans and support the development of the interventions which are delivered alongside these plans.



IAG level 3, or equivalent experience is essential in this role.



A DBS check will be required for this role.



A Prison Clearance Check will be required for this role.
