The Role
Collaborate with our technical, development and innovation teams to transform complex data into visually compelling and actionable insights. This role involves creating and improving ways to drive information to our users, especially through data visualization on the Fastmarkets Platform. You will also work alongside other members of the innovation team to develop smart solutions to user problems, enhancing and expanding our output while delivering efficiency. This role is pivotal in building, maintaining and improving a systemized approach to project management and delivery in data visualisation.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Content design & development

  • Design and create compelling data visualizations, including dashboards, charts and graphs.
  • Develop and implement creative ways to deliver key data to users, especially through data visualization on the Platform.
  • Collaborate with data analysts to extract, clean and prepare data for visualization.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency in visualizations.
  • Work with other members of the innovation team to develop smart solutions to user problems.
Collaborative product development
  • Engage in collaborative product development and execution in data capture and visualization, working with others to build the best solutions from the ground up.
  • Explain and demonstrate processes to improve visibility and manage expectations during project set-up and execution.
  • Widen the remit from solely agricultural products to other verticals, including metals & minerals, forest products, and carbon, and be ready to scale/evolve to future verticals.
Stakeholder engagement and knowledge sharing
  • Present data visualizations to key stakeholders, explaining complex insights clearly.
  • Gather feedback from users to improve the effectiveness of data visualizations.
  • Share knowledge and create a knowledge base, building a library of techniques, how-to guides and competencies to bolster the team's capabilities and understanding.
  • Manage relationships with other stakeholders and partners, including the product development team.
Process improvement and efficiency
  • Leverage automation tools to streamline repetitive tasks and optimize workflows, freeing up time for more strategic and creative initiatives.
  • Drive improvements to the data-management process, minimizing maintenance time and making processes sustainable and scalable.
  • Implement rigorous quality assurance measures to ensure all deliverables meet our brand standards and exceed client expectations.
  • Actively explore and implement innovative solutions to enhance content delivery and user engagement.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Strong command of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik or similar software.
  • Understanding of data analysis techniques and statistical concepts.
  • Knowledge of design principles and best practices for visual communication.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills and ability to interpret data.
  • Excellent visual design skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with modern database technologies and IT systems.

  • Fluent in English.

  • You report into the Global Head of Content and Pricing Operations,
  • You work closely with cross-functional teams, contributing to a supportive environment that encourages learning and knowledge-sharing and maximizes team performance.
  • You cultivate strong working relationships with reporters, editors, researchers and analysts, based on your willingness to learn and contribute effectively.
  • You are receptive to mentoring and coaching from colleagues, developing your skills supporting and team efforts to improve consistency and operational efficiency.
