Job Description
Robertson Bell are supporting a highly complex organisation based in Brighton to recruit an interim Director of Finance on an initial six-month contract.
This is a hybrid role, with two days per week required in the office and will play a pivotal in managing the performance of the finance function by offering knowledge, direction, and support. As a member of the SLT, you will also support senior colleagues in making informed decisions to drive the business forward.
The interim Director of Finance will be responsible for:
- Managing a sizeable team of close to 70 reports spanning all areas of finance, as well as some wider parts of corporate services.
- Ensuring that teams are well coordinated and working in unison within a complex environment.
- Contributing to the early stages of a systems implementation, readying the finance function and working closely with the Director of Corporate Services to outline timescales and key milestones.
- Acting as the SME on all escalated finance queries, to both direct reports and the SLT.
- Recent and extensive experience working in similar positions at the Finance Director or equivalent level (e.g. Head of Finance or Financial Controller).
- Experience managing sizeable finance teams which span all areas of accounting.
- A CCAB or equivalent accountancy qualification.
- The ability to be hands-on, despite managing a large team, by being in the detail and providing operational guidance to reports.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
The Interim Director of Finance position will be paid on a daily rate, and through an Umbrella Company (Inside IR35).
