Cygnet are looking for an Employee Relations Specialist to cover a 9 month FTC contract, joining our team on a full time, 40hr per week basis.


Working remotely you will work alongside our HRBP's to support our services in the South East region. Please note you will be required to travel to services as and when required.

The Role:




This role is a maternity cover for at least 9 months, and is a new role in our HR structure. As ER Specialist the role will be first point of contact for providing expert employee relations guidance, coaching and case management support to managers in the south region. The role will work closely with the regional HR Business Partners.


Much of the advice will be via telephone and email, however there will be an expectation of on-site support as and when required.


Day to Day:




Provide specialist employee relations advice and support to managers in relation to investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, performance management, probation, flexible working and other family friendly policies, etc. Ensure that all cases are managed sensitively and appropriately, in a timely manner. Support managers in the drafting of formal documentation as appropriate, including reviewing investigation reports. Attending hearings where necessary to provide HR Advice/note take. To promptly flag any risks to the relevant HR Business Partner and HR Manager. To maintain a log of ER cases.

Qualifications and Experience:




Proven employee relations experience across a multi-site workforce, up to and including dismissal/appeal. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate effectively and professionally. Skilled in problem solving and resolution. Ability to produce clear written material, including letters and report. Customer focused with keen attention to detail. Strong organisation skills. Strong sense of ownership and ability to follow tasks through to completion. Ability to understand and determine when issues should be escalated to a higher level.
