Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure effective support and inclusion.
Oversee the implementation and review of EHCPs, support plans, and intervention strategies.
Monitor pupil progress and ensure that data informs planning and provision.
Provide guidance, training, and support to teaching and support staff regarding SEND practices.
Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and all relevant statutory requirements.
Contribute to whole-school improvement planning and inclusion strategies.
Person Specification
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
National Award for SEN Coordination (or working towards it) - desirable.
Proven experience working with pupils with a range of additional needs.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while managing own workload effectively.
A clear understanding of current SEND legislation and best practice.
