About the Role
Do you thrive by working with the business, showing initiative, and taking ownership for key deliverables? Do you have experience managing external audit for a complex business, producing consolidated accounts, managing VAT, PSA, and other key financial tasks? Would you enjoy leading and supporting a small team and advising on accounting principles and regulations. If you have great accounting knowledge, enthusiasm for embedding best practice around systems and processes and have excellent attention to detail this role may be for you.
Job Opportunity
We are looking for the right person to join our FDS Finance team in Peterborough on an interim basis until the end of March 2026.
Key parts of your role would be:
Preparation of documentation and management of interim and final external audits and internal audit if applicable.
Reporting monthly financial information to the Finance team in Hamburg including detailed trial balances, cashflows, HR and Liquidity reporting
Carrying out regular process and control review, including balance sheet reconciliation and review, systems and approval processes
Management and development of two direct reports
VAT reporting and input into tax calculations
Producing the statutory accounts for the group
Line management of Financial Accountant and Accounts Assistant

Essential Skills
Our successful candidate for the Senior Financial Accountant role is likely to be able to demonstrate the following skills:
5+years' experience of financial accounting processes
Strong technical accounting knowledge
Demonstrable line management and team development skills
Qualified accountant - CIMA/ICAEW/ACCA with 3-5 years PQE or an exceptional QBE
Drive to promote a first-time right ethos and seek continuous improvement.
Strong insight, numerical and excel skills.
* An excellent team player with a can-do attitude.
