Your Role



Due to continuing business growth, we have an opportunity for a Interim - Senior People Advisor to join our People and Culture team to support the business as we continue our journey of growth.

You will work within the People and Culture Team, to provide senior operational and advisory leadership across the People & Culture function, ensuring the delivery of compliant, efficient, and people-focused HR support during a period of business transformation.

This interim role provides additional leadership capacity within the People & Culture team during a key transformation period. It supports operational delivery, compliance, and consistency while ensuring effective oversight of HRIS implementation, harmonisation of terms and conditions, and change consultations.

Your Responsibilities



Strategic Delivery:



Support the Head of People & Culture in delivering the People transformation roadmap and embedding new HR systems, structures, and terms and conditions. Act as deputy for the Head of People & Culture when required, ensuring continuity of HR leadership and decision-making. Lead on implementing consistent HR processes aligned to ISO 9001, ISO 27001, and ISO 14001 frameworks. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline People processes, enhance compliance, and strengthen employee experience.

Operational Leadership:



Supervise and coach the People Advisor and People Coordinator, ensuring clarity of roles, priorities, and development. Oversee daily HR operations, including employee relations, absence management, onboarding/offboarding, HRIS accuracy, and compliance documentation. Provide expert guidance to managers on complex employee relations cases, ensuring adherence to UK employment law and best practice. Coordinate payroll, benefits, and HRIS data integrity alongside the People Advisor. Ensure accurate and timely communication across the organisation regarding people updates, policy changes, and engagement initiatives.

Projects and Transformation:



Lead implementation of the new HRIS and associated self-service modules (holidays, timesheets, absence, payroll, LMS). Oversee consultation and communication processes for change consultations and updated T&Cs. Support development of pay banding frameworks, benefits enhancements (e.g., EV salary sacrifice), and career pathways. Ensure HR processes and templates align with GDPR, HSE, and ISO requirements. Contribute to DEI, ESG, and wellbeing initiatives under the Head of People & Culture's direction.

Governance, Risk & Compliance:



Maintain robust HR governance, ensuring all people records, investigations, and employee relations actions are compliant with employment legislation. Support internal and external audits (ISO, ESG, HSE) by providing required documentation and process evidence. Monitor trends and risks across absence, turnover, and compliance audits, escalating to the Head of People & Culture as needed.

Essential:



Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to deal with rapidly changing business conditions Can demonstrate a strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice Can demonstrate experience of leading Employee Relations Casework (Disciplinaries, Grievances, Absence, Performance) Familiar with HRIS and other HR technology tools that streamline HR processes and improve data management Proven experience leading and coaching a small HR team Comfortable balancing strategic delivery with hands-on operational work Proven ability to maintain confidentiality in any environment and at all times Excellent organisational, planning, and prioritisation skills Proven ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels Skilled communicator with diplomacy, confidentiality, and empathy High attention to detail and ability to interpret HR data Can demonstrate a proactive, positive and pragmatic approach to any problems, always demonstrating integrity and professionalism Can demonstrate the ability to work in a multi-task environment Proficient user of Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Level 5 CIPD Qualification/or equivalent demonstrable experience

Desirable:



Level 7 CIPD Qualification/or equivalent demonstrable experience Proven ability of developing data-driven reports Proven experience within the Construction or Electrical industry

Interim - Senior People Advisor package



Salary:



40,000-45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Hours:



Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00, 40 hours per week
