The Opportunity



Help build London's most practice-honest interior design pathway:

space planning, compliance literacy (Building Regs/Building Safety basics), low-carbon specifications, and portfolio-to-placement mentoring.



What you'll do

Teach

studio & seminars

in space planning, FF&E, materials/specification, joinery & detailing, lighting layouts, and drawing standards. Embed

UK compliance

: Building Regulations (e.g., Parts B/K/L/M), accessibility, fire-strategy touchpoints, CDM awareness. Set/assess

live London briefs

; run weekly

crits

and transparent assessments. Lead

site visits

(conservation areas, V&A, showrooms) and supplier/industry interactions. Coach

career outcomes

: CV/portfolio surgeries, project narratives, feasibility/cost notes, client-ready decks. Champion

planet-positive

delivery: reuse/retrofit logic, low-carbon specs, product declarations/EPDs. Uphold awarding-body/Ofqual assessment norms, H&S, safeguarding, and EDI.
What you'll bring

6+ years UK Interior Design practice

(post-qualification) with built work you can discuss in depth.

Education:

UK-taught

UG and/or PG in Interior Design/Interior Architecture

(e.g., BA/BSc + MA/MDes)

preferred

; strong international equivalents welcomed. Proven

teaching/mentoring flair

: rigorous crits, clear briefs, fair assessment. Working knowledge of

BIID competencies

and relevant

RIBA Plan of Work

touchpoints for interiors.

Software proficiency (interior-specific):

AutoCAD or Vectorworks

(production drawings, GA plans, RCPs, joinery details)

SketchUp

(with

V-Ray/Enscape/Twinmotion

for visualisation)

Adobe CC

(InDesign for portfolios, Photoshop for visuals, Illustrator for diagrams)

Revit (BIM)

a strong plus for coordination;

NBS Chorus

or equivalent spec platform desirable Basic

Excel

for schedules (FF&E, door/ironmongery, lighting) Confident with

spec writing

, schedules, supplier coordination, and fit-out workflows. Excellent communication and the

right to work in the UK

.

Nice to have



BIID/ARB/RIBA/SBID membership; retrofit/heritage experience; LEED/BREEAM/Passivhaus exposure; end-to-end delivery (planning/tender/contract admin); showroom/supplier network.
