We have three opportunities for a Manufacturing, (X1), or Software, (X2), Engineer to join us at Honeywell, in Poole, where you will gain exposure in supporting manufacturing lines, including manual manufacturing process, data collection and digitisation.


We boast high volume manufacturing sales, as the number one brand, offering cutting edge gas detection products, and are used across the world in the energy industry, semiconductor industry and food industry, to name but a few.


This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell. This internship is set up for 12 months, starting in summer 2026, and will be for a candidate requiring a sandwich internship as part of their degree, with a potential opportunity for a permanent role after graduation in 2028.

Key responsibilities:



You will gain hands on experience on the line to fully understand our manufacturing processes, after which you will give you a project for the year to work on autonomously. This project will be around improving production processes, improving data collection, digitisation etc.


You will work closely with experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience within a friendly and supportive team to be trained to achieve the following:


Developing and improving test systems, jigs and fixtures Integrating digital tools with manufacturing systems, working with cloud platforms, and exploring AI-driven solutions Explore MFG digital applications & tools Collaborate on cloud-based solutions for data storage and analytics Work with SQL databases to store and retrieve manufacturing data, understanding table structures and unique identifiers Use analytical tools for data visualisation and performance monitoring

Key skills and qualifications:



Currently studying towards a degree in, software, electronic systems design, relevant engineering courses, (such as manufacturing, Control Systems or Electronics), Computer Science, or related fields, that requires a sandwich placement in 2026 Proficiency in at least one programming language (C#, Python or JavaScript). Basic knowledge of databases Commute with ease to our Poole office For Manufacturing Engineering interns, you need experience in fault finding within machines and control systems, (this can be from a hobby, your studies or a work placement) For Software Engineering, you need some familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), and an awareness of web development frameworks (e.g., Flask, Node.js). - (this can be from a hobby, your studies or a work placement)
