Company Overview
Eequ is the UK's premier marketplace and booking platform for clubs, classes and government funded activity programmes for under-privileged children. We are dedicated to transforming the educational landscape through innovative marketplace solutions.
Role Overview
We're offering a unique opportunity for a part-time
Intern or Apprentice UX Design Researcher
to join our team. This role is ideal for a university student or someone looking to transition into digital UX from a related field like customer support or another area of design. Working with our talented design team, you'll play a key role in refining Eequ's user experience through close observation of user interactions, participation in customer support, sales and onboarding processes to make our interfaces as intuitive, self-serving and self-explanatory as possible.
Startup Learning Environment
At Eequ, you'll find a dynamic environment filled with real-world learning opportunities. Unlike traditional corporate settings, where training may be more structured, we expect our Intern UX Designer to come in with the fundamental skills and confidence to sketch UX wireframes and ideate on feature improvements and UX flows. You'll need to be comfortable taking customer support calls as this is how you will come to understand user needs firsthand.
You'll be naturally techy, always aware of nice products and software, always investigating new apps and websites, spotting every new button, slider, menu and flow.
You'll be working in a startup ecosystem where your work will quickly be visible on our live product. We'll provide you with as much responsibility as you can handle, encouraging you to develop your talent through hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities
You will take a key role in customer support in order to observe and interact with users and gather insights from customer support moments to improve UX. You will be responsible for logging and analyse customer interactions to address pain points, aiming to create an experience that requires no support. You will participate in sales and onboarding calls in order to develop automated flows and prompts to reduce manual support and increase conversions.. You will use Figma, Linear and Slack to organise, communicate, and implement your ideas. Through understanding developed directly via support you will be able to practically contribute to designs and features that are developed with true empathy for the user.
About You
We're looking for a candidate who is:
Confident and Articulate:
You will be part of the front line support team in order to design your way out of customer support.
