About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for an Internal Audit Manager to join our growing team in London
The Internal Audit Manager will be responsible for delivery of audits from the plan agreed by the BB Audit and Risk Committee. The audit plan typically covers both the financial and commercial controls of projects across the UK business as well as internal financial control audits and audits of Group strategic risk areas.
What you'll be doing
Identify the key risks and confirm the overall audit objective across projects/processes. Working with the audit stakeholders they will develop the IA Terms of Reference (scope) of the audit, ensure buy in of key stakeholders to the audit, agree the logistics and facilitate an efficient audit process.
Deliver audit assignments, ensuring the approach to audit testing is well developed and followed and all audit findings are well supported. Effective communication of progress and discussion of any emerging issues with key stakeholders throughout the audit process.
Prepare audit reports that effectively communicate findings and actions to the auditees and other key stakeholders.
Ad-hoc investigations into potential financial and ethical issues, including allegations of fraud from cases reported via the BB Group whistle blowing line.
Who we're looking for
Previous experience undertaking internal audits or financial control
management experience.
Ability to deliver reports both orally and written in an objective and
persuasive manner, demonstrating initiative and resilience when
challenged.
Has good interpersonal and communication skills and acts in a
professional manner.
Can provide independent and objective challenge with the ability to
influence others including senior management.
Is a self-starter who manages their own time and workload and brings ideas
to add value to the IA function.
Is ambitious and capable of developing further within the RAQ team and
ultimately the wider BB business
