The Opportunity - Role Purpose





As an Internal Auditor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Board, Audit Committee, and senior management by providing analysis, advice, and recommendations on the organisation's governance framework, internal control environment, and compliance and risk management processes.



This is a varied and rewarding position that offers the opportunity to make a real impact, while also presenting challenge and complexity.



In this role, you will:


Play a key role in delivering the TBUK Internal Audit plan, while also contributing to the wider Group Internal Audit team. Proactively support the TBUK Director of Internal Audit and the TBUK Senior Internal Auditor in fulfilling their responsibilities, including relationship management and governance reporting. Serve as a role model for Internal Audit and Triodos, both internally and externally.

This role is based at our Bristol office and offers the benefits of hybrid working, with an expectation to work from the Bristol office 1-2 days per week.


Key Responsibilities will require you to:




Support the planning, preparation, and delivery of audit assignments, including contributing to annual risk assessments and audit plans. Identify issues, recommend improvements, and communicate findings to management to strengthen processes and internal controls. Assist in preparing clear audit reports and monitor the implementation of agreed actions. Help establish and improve audit processes, tools, and procedures. Maintain effective communication with stakeholders on audit progress and deliverables. Develop knowledge in data analytics and specific risk areas to enhance audit quality. Ensure all audit activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal governance requirements. Contribute to the promotion of Triodos' brand and mission through professional conduct and engagement.

What We Are Looking For





We are seeking an Internal Auditor with a strong academic background and practical experience in audit, ideally within the banking sector or a multinational environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to learning and professional development. You will be organised, adaptable, and motivated by Triodos Bank's mission and values. A genuine interest in sustainable banking and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting are also important.


Experience and Qualifications Required:




Previous experience in an internal audit function or with a multinational (external) audit firm (banking sector experience desirable) Additional accountancy or audit qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA, CISA, CPA, PIIA, MIIA, or equivalent) are desirable or currently being pursued Strong communication skills and ability to manage relationships across an organisation Ability to work independently and collaboratively on risk assessments, audit planning, execution, and reporting Commitment to Triodos Bank's values and mission, with a desire to deepen understanding of sustainable banking Organised and proactive approach to meeting objectives Experience working in an international environment is desirable; willingness to travel and work in different cultural settings (approximately 5-10 days per year) Ability to work collaboratively across teams and locations in a hybrid work environment

In return for your hard work and expertise, you will receive a competitive full time equivalent salary of between 39,000 and 44,000 depending on experience, plus access to our extensive benefits package, where most of our benefits are non-contributory.
