Job Description

Michael Page is recruiting exclusively for a great first-time mover Internal Auditor opportunity, working to deliver independent assurance across financial and operational processes for a leading UK and Ireland manufacturing & distribution business. This role combines home working, occasional office presence in the West Midlands, and travel to sites, with approximately 40 nights away per year.
As an Internal Auditor, you will:

  • Conduct audits across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform detailed testing of internal controls for income statement and balance sheet areas.
  • Prepare clear, actionable audit reports for senior management.
  • Support external audits, annual stock checks, and due diligence for acquisitions.
  • Contribute to process improvement projects and provide technical support on emerging business issues.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Internal Audit and the wider finance team, including management accounts, SOPs/balance sheet, and commercial analysis.
  • This role involves a mix of home working, time at the West Midlands office, and travel to sites across the UK and Ireland. Most visits can be completed within a 90-minute drive from the Midlands, but approximately 40 nights away are expected annually.

  • Proven external audit and accounts experience, ideally with exposure to operational audits.
  • Big 4 accounting background
  • Professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and deliver high-quality outputs.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and Ireland

  • Salary of 50,000 - 55,000 per annum
