Salary:
The starting salary is 47,060, which includes allowances totalling 2,928.
The salary is broken down as 44,132 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale 52,652. Plus, a location allowance of 1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of 1,000.

There is no greater mission than keeping the public safe and excellent communication and engagement play a vital part in enabling the Met's officers and staff to deliver for communities across our capital. Our internal communication team ensures that staff and officers are aware of the big issues that affect them, understand the work that is being done to transform the Met under a New Met for London and showcase the amazing work that's being done across the organisation to deliver in line with our values and principles.
We are looking for a brilliant internal communication manager to join our team and to help to tell the story of who we are, what we do and what we stand for to officers and staff across the organisation. They should have a broad spectrum of modern communication skills, ability to work at pace across rapidly changing issues and have exceptional written, verbal and storytelling skills and expertise.
Key responsibilities for these roles include:
The day-to-day development and delivery of high-quality internal communication articles and campaigns, ensuring a clear purpose for each piece of communication that delivers on its objectives with clear messaging, tone, and consistency of voice,
Advocating for our workforce and becoming the voice of our internal audience within our communications team, using insight, data and on the ground knowledge to shape our storytelling,
Supporting the strategic planning of communication activity across disciplines, building on three-month plans, ensuring you are delivering on your portfolio and priorities, and providing clear and concise communication advice,
Developing insight and research to better shape communications plans, products and outcomes
Working with key departmental, organisational leads and relevant stakeholders to ensure opportunities for understanding, alignment and support are maximised,
Influence and build relationships with local policing teams and internal stakeholders to get their buy in and ensure they use the right communications material, in the right place, at the right time,
Represent communications, including in organisational or partnership meetings, to provide high quality communication and engagement advice across the breath of the communication spectrum.

Essential For The Role A broad spectrum of modern communication skills, ability to work across communication disciplines,

Experience of developing a strategy aligned to the departmental priorities, informed by insight, with measurable objectives and evaluation of success. Experience of translating business challenges into successful integrated communication strategies,
Proficient in tailoring content, reaching and driving positive engagement with target audiences, including hard to reach,
Be both curious and confident with data, ensuring recommendations are backed up with sound evidence,
Experience of developing strong networks and influencing others, with strong stakeholder management skills at different levels of seniority.
Experience of managing complex and challenging communication topics, with empathy,
Knowledge of best practice accessible communications and experience of implementing into content,
Ability to multi-task, manage your communication projects and prioritise to ensure delivery,
Ability to respond with resilience and initiative when priorities shift, and adapt approach to changed requirements,
Experience of leading others, developing and motivating colleagues
