Within our law division, we specialise in training CILEX Lawyers, Licensed Conveyancers and Probate Practitioners. High-quality assessment and robust quality assurance are central to our approach.

The role:

We are seeking a freelance Internal Verifier to support our law qualifications. The role is paid at 20 per hour, with an anticipated workload of around three days per month. This flexible position is suitable for professionals balancing other commitments.

As an Internal Verifier, you will ensure assessment decisions are valid, reliable and consistent, and that internal processes meet awarding body requirements prior to certification.

Key responsibilities:

Liaising with tutors when work is ready for internal verification Reviewing and sampling marked assessments Providing constructive feedback and challenging marks where appropriate Ensuring standards are applied consistently and fairly Annotating scripts and completing internal verification documentation Preparing for and attending external quality assurance visits Supporting standardisation activities and resolving quality issues Liaising with awarding bodies and keeping up to date with assessment requirements Developing strategic IQA sampling plans Analysing data to drive quality improvement Reviewing and updating quality assurance policies Mentoring and supporting new assessment staff Delivering coaching on assessment best practices Monitoring team CPD and occupational competence

About you:

You will have a background in law or a related discipline and an Internal Verifier qualification, such as the Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF).

You will be confident in making professional judgements, highly organised, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with tutors.
