This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant to join our team in a global role where you will be providing financial support to Financial Lines and Property Leadership Teams on formation and quantification of strategy, including scenario analytics and portfolio improvement plans to support decisions.

Our Finance team plays an essential role in maintaining a healthy balance sheet at AIG. It delivers significant finance support for the overall enterprise, optimizing operations, controllership, funding, and capital structure to honour our stakeholder commitments. The team's work is invaluable to informing leadership decision making, complying with regulatory requirements, and maintaining financial discipline, transparency and controls, while providing timely and meaningful information.



How you will create an impact:



Reporting and monitoring of the performance of the Financial Lines and Property Business (Key P&L items) against plan as well as KPI analysis (business drivers).

Deliver insights to support leadership discussion and decision making. Leverage Financial, Actuarial, Claims, Reinsurance and Expense reports to provide business teams with insights to ensure any corrective actions can be timely executed.

Preparation of business reviews. From a finance perspective, support all quarterly, annual and ad-hoc business reviews.

Lead the budget (and 3 year planning) for these areas, coordinating with Regions/Countries, Actuarial, Reinsurance, Claims, the Expenses Team and the wider Finance community.

Support monthly forecast and quarter close process. Promote accuracy and consistency of financials and KPIs across all regions, countries and sub-products as well as supporting the quarterly earnings requirements.

Ensure quarter close actuals are accurate and are validated

Review and validate/challenge actuarial loss picks and assumptions, both current and prior year.

Expense management and monitoring, transparency of expense drivers, leveraging reports produced centrally and driving efficiencies across the business teams.

Reinsurance - support reinsurance strategy optimisation and annual renewals, including the allocation of costs to regions & countries.



What you'll need to succeed



A qualified accountant with significant experience in financial planning and analysis, actuarial or business analysis.

Insurance experience highly desirable

Experience in areas of financial budgeting, strategic planning and profitability analysis.

Strong operational experience and abilities to work to demanding deadlines.

Advanced ability to work with analytic tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, PowerPoint)

Well organized, highly detailed, quantitative skills and strong focus on accuracy

Experience of working with offshore teams.
