Tomatel Care are looking to recruit dedicated and enthusiastic Intervention Support Workers to be a part of an exciting new opportunity at our Family Residential Assessment Centre. As an Intervention Support Worker you will be responsible for assisting the Assessing Social Workers to deliver bespoke packages of care and support to children and families in line with their individual identified personal outcomes.
Ty Belgrave is a property located in Abergavenny with 4 self-contained suites offering a safe and nurturing environment to children and their family whilst comprehensive assessments of their parenting capacity are undertaken. We promote a strengths based approach to assessment with families receiving bespoke packages of support designed to meet their individual needs and personal outcomes.
Our purpose is to provide the Courts and other relevant parties concerned with the safeguarding of children, a range of high quality, independent assessments, interventions and services regarding referred parents/carers' abilities to keep children safe, and to assess their capacity and potential for promoting children's continuing wellbeing.
Our aim to support long term sustainable change by offering follow on community based intervention and assessment to families to "bridge the gap" between a residential living environment and independent community based living.
Example of responsibilities:
Assist the Assessing social workers with the delivery of programmes and group work to resident children and families; delivering work on a 1:1 bespoke and group work basis
Maintain clear and accurate records of any work undertaken with the children and families at the centre
Support children and families to attend community based activities in line with the personal intervention plan
Work together with all staff to create a safe and warm environment where families are provided with opportunities to flourish
Undertake community based work with families on a "transition home" plan
Adopt a strengths based approach to practice encouraging families to have a voice and play an active role in decision making in respect of their care and support
Adopt a trauma informed approach to practice
Be accountable for own learning and continued professional development
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children and families at the centre is paramount at all times - reporting any safeguarding concerns to senior members of staff immediately
To fully understand and implement The Wales Safeguarding Procedures as well as local safeguarding procedures - seeking guidance from senior members of staff where necessary
Ensure all organisations policies are understood on induction and adhered to at all times, including the need for confidentiality.
