Support Through Sport are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and positive individual to join our rapidly growing organisation as an Interventions Manager to lead the provision of mentoring and education intervention programmes to disadvantaged young people within disadvantaged and underserved communities of Birmingham.
Support Through Sport delivers a range of sport-based intervention programmes, mentoring programmes, workshops, activities and youth development projects across Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Birmingham. Our mentoring programmes and youth work interventions are designed to develop protective factors and decrease risk factors for young people at-risk of engagement in negative influences.
We use these positive initiatives as diversion and intervention programmes to support young people whilst tackling negative influences such as knife crime, gang violence, youth offending and serious youth violence. You will be supported to meet a benchmark of training and standards which includes:
First Aid Training
Managing Challenging Behaviour Training
Safeguarding Children and Young People Training
Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training
Level 3 Qualification or higher in youth work
Management and leadership training
Enhanced DBS Check

Role and Responsibilities
Delivering and managing mentoring and interventions programmes to young people aged 8-18 and identified as 'at-risk' within disadvantaged communities.
Administration duties such as registration, emails, case noting, meeting preparation, leading meetings, using a HR management system and using a monitoring and evaluation software.
1 to 1 engagement with at-risk young people in a targeted mentoring capacity whilst supporting the development of mentoring staff.
Attending community events - locally, regionally and nationally - to represent the organisation and it's core aims and objectives whilst sharing information about our intervention programmes.
Managing the delivery of workshops and group-based interventions in line with our aims and objectives.
Discussions and meetings with professionals, referral organisations and agencies to follow our mentoring interventions process map including risk assessments and safety planning.
Acting as a community role model, representing the organisation professionally, proactively and positively whilst maintaining and upholding our values.
Developing thematic interventions delivery, providing support which is bespoke to every young person, or group of young people, dependant on their individual needs.
Attending meetings relevant to your role, specifically multi-agency meetings where a case is discussed and forward actions are agreed upon.
A strong work ethic, with the ability to put young people at the centre of your work and collaborate with others to achieve the best possible outcomes for every young person.
To raise aspirations and use a goal based framework to progress young people towards meaningful and sustainable opportunities.
To support the impact, evaluation and monitoring of our interventions programmes.
