About New Dawn New Day



New Dawn New Day (NDND) works with women involved in the criminal justice system, providing specialist, trauma-informed support to address the underlying causes of offending. We support women at various points in their journey, from early intervention and diversion through to intensive, wrap-around support for those serving community sentences or leaving prison. Our work is gender-responsive and tailored to the specific needs of women across Leicestershire.

We are seeking a passionate and motivated

Interventions Support Worker

to expand our team and enhance the support available to women with multiple unmet needs. This role is vital in ensuring women have access to essential services, advocating on their behalf, and offering practical assistance to help them move forward in their lives.

Job Purpose



The

Interventions Support Worker

will provide practical and emotional support to women referred to NDND. The role involves making referrals to external agencies, assisting with emergency provisions, and maintaining strong partnerships with support services. The post holder will also manage donations, coordinate resources, and contribute to the effective administration of client support services.

The Key Responsibilities are as follows:

Make referrals to relevant agencies, including food banks, housing support, domestic abuse services, mental health services, and legal advice. Advocate on behalf of women to ensure access to services and the ability to exercise their legal rights. Provide support with budgeting and financial management. Manage donations and ensure they are distributed appropriately to clients based on need. Maintain accurate and confidential records, updating client information on NDND's CRM system. Ensure all safeguarding concerns are managed in line with NDND's safeguarding policies. Work collaboratively within the team to contribute to the smooth running of the organisation. Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a compassionate and inquisitive approach.

Person Specification



Essential

Experience supporting vulnerable women in a frontline or community setting. Understanding of the challenges faced by women in the criminal justice system. Ability to work in a trauma-informed way, with strong advocacy and case management skills. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and crisis support. Strong IT and administrative skills, including maintaining records. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Compassionate, non-judgemental, and committed to empowering women.
Desirable

Knowledge of housing, health, and social care rights. Experience delivering group support or psychoeducational programmes. Ability to speak additional languages relevant to NDND's client base. Relevant qualification in social work, psychology, or related field.
