Overview:

The Inventory Controller plays a key role in ensuring high availability across our store network by managing stock levels, optimising supply from key product categories or suppliers, and ensuring we operate within agreed stock investment and compliance parameters. You'll forecast, plan, and manage inventory from supplier through to store - helping us deliver high performance while controlling stockholding.

This role is a great fit for someone who wants to build a long-term career in operations, supply chain, or merchandising. With new stores opening and increasing complexity in our product mix, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility, specialise in key categories, or move into more senior operations or merchandising roles.

Key Responsibilities

:

Forecast Supply Needs

: Working with all other stakeholders predict future inventory requirements based on trends and demand patterns.

Manage Orders

: Place and receive inventory orders, and coordinate shipping and delivery into the central warehouse and or direct to store.

Maintain Accurate Inventory Records

: Utilise internal systems to maintain detailed and accurate records of inventory levels, transactions, and movements.

Resolve Issues

: Identify and resolve issues related to inventory discrepancies and damaged goods.

Implement Control Procedures

: Develop and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.

Inventory Audits

: Take part in all store physical counts, and (working alongside our Risk and Compliance Lead) organise any required adhoc counts to ensure accuracy and reconcile discrepancies. These may be out of normal working hours.

Ensure Compliance

: Adhere to relevant laws and regulations concerning inventory management.




What We're Looking For:

: High level of accuracy in maintaining inventory records.

: Ability to manage and maintain inventory systems efficiently.

Analytical Skills

: Proficiency in analysing inventory data to forecast needs and optimize stock levels.

Communication Skills

: Strong ability to coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.

Problem-Solving Skills

: Effective in addressing and resolving inventory issues and discrepancies.

Technical Proficiency

: Experience with inventory management software and tools, such as ERP systems. Proficiency in Excel is a must; familiarity with formulas and data management is advantageous.

Customer Service Skills

: Ability to manage relationships with suppliers and internal customer concerns.

Preferred Qualifications

:

Previous experience in inventory control or a similar role. Certification in inventory management or supply chain management.

Working Conditions

:

Primarily based in the Group Operations Centre office suite in Muswell Hill London N10, a "hot desking" mentality will be required to deliver the job objectives

Full-time

: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30




Additional Things to Note:



Due to our work with the Post Office, all UOE team members are required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check. If you have a prior, current or pending conviction in the UK or elsewhere you must inform us at application as we will require clearance from Post Office in relation to this. You must have a valid Right to Work in the UK with a minimum of 12 months remaining. Please note, our office is on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator, so you will need to be able to climb the stairs. ###
