The site Inventory Controller is responsible for individual site material and inventory management as well as Goods in, Goods Out and subcontractor management. This position will be responsible for supporting procurement, delivery and storage of parts.
Duties and Responsibilities:Parts receiving and receipting into site ERP, ensuring all materials is supplied, stored and handled to meet GE and the customer's safety and site requirements;
Pick and Book parts against WIP Jobs in a timely manner so that production targets are met;
Supporting Technicians in Parts and Billable Tasks for Job Delivery including parts preparation;
Coordinate input on site material and hardware shortages, including subcontracted items ensuring timely turnaround of product and effective subcontractor management to prevent delays;
Internal transfers of materials or inventory between sites;
Stocktakes and cyclical counts;
Management of consumables including shelf life control and proper storage of consumables following all EHS guidelines;
Maintain Calibrations of Test Equipment to a 12 month or as industry required cycle. Managing Out of Tolerance equipment accordingly and following any out of tolerance procedures or actions coordinating with management and technicians;
Maintaining Chemical Register and Chemical Storage Guidelines;
Receipting and dispatch of incoming and outgoing work and subcontracted items;
Work with Materials Leader to plan for prevention of excess inventory and stock outs;
Assist Materials Leader in developing 12 month rolling forecast monthly striving for 85% accuracy;
Collaborate with Materials Leader to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels and reduce total costs;
Work with internal and external stakeholders, such as Operations management, Production teams, Customer service team, quality, EHS, supply, and customer service reps, to meet GE's contractual obligations, and additionally any internal goals and performance metrics (KPI's) management deems necessary;
React to material and production plans that do or do not meet customer requirements;
Prepare availability reports for all equipment, as required;
Goods in Inspection preventing quality issues with parts manufacturing;
Assist in quoting and strip reporting functions as relief and backfill for Shop leads in peak periods, or as needed;
Responsible for all purchasing at Welshpool site; raising purchase orders, processing invoices, following up on overdue invoice queries, managing i-flows, and being the point of contact for supplier purchasing/invoicing issues related to Welshpool site; and
Any other administrative duties as instructed by Shop Leads and/or Materials Leader.
Qualifications and Skills:Experience in MRP, and ERP systems such as Oracle & SAP;
Experience in MS Office Suite;
At least 5 years of experience in a sourcing and/or inventory control position;
Strong oral and written communication skills;
Understanding of LEAN principles and Six Sigma would be preferential; and
Forklift licence required.
