The Irish Cultural Development Officer will play a central role in promoting Irish culture, heritage and community engagement within the borough. The postholder will support and strengthen existing groups and activities while helping to expand connections across the community and beyond.

Ability to engage with diverse audiences and encourage participation.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Demonstrate interest in at least one of the following areas of Irish culture:
Irish dancing
Irish language
Irish cookery
Singing
Genealogy
Craft or art
Sport (e.g. Gaelic games)
Irish history and heritage
Networking skills to expand the clubs connections within the community
Ability to strengthen and develop links with other Irish groups, events and activities inside and outside of the Wigan borough.
Key Responsibilities
Support, sustain and promote existing Irish cultural groups and activities.
Act as liason between the club and the wider community to encourage participation.
Develop partnerships with other Irish organisations and cultural networks locally, regionally and nationally.
Contribute to the organisation of events, workshops and activities that celebrate and showcase Irish culture.
Assist in identifying opportunities for growth, funding and collaboration.
